Kenono works closely with communities to co-design forest conservation projects, including co-creating species lists, site selection, and long-term monitoring and governance.

Reconnecting Tseminyu District’s conserved forests by planting a biodiversity corridor. A part of the Tseminyu District Green Initiative, in collaboration with village institutions, civil society, and government.

Kenono prepared the Tseminyu District Green Initiative vision document and, in consultation with every village council in the district’s seven ranges, the plan for a biodiversity corridor that links the Community Conserved Areas (CCAs) with the land being restored. Four village ranges have since declared and demarcated new Community Conserved Areas (CCAs) of around 1,000 hectares.
